“[The Silence Factory] are helping usher in a new wave...with the listenability of pop, the intensity of emo, and the power of hard rock. This band has a sound that the riff aficionado, the hip dancer, and the tortured writer can go to on a date together and all enjoy the show.” Canadian Beats
After writing and recording a full solo album called Collection of Thoughts late in 2015, singer/songwriter Nathan McNevin formed The Silence Factory to bring the music to life on stages across Canada. Upon releasing the record under Nathan McNevin & The Silence Factory early in 2016, the band quickly went on to take first place in 97.7 HTZ-FM Rocksearch in June 2016. They also won the Windsor-Walkerville Fringe Fest Battle of the Bands and placed in the Regional Top 10 in CBC’s Searchlight - not to mention two full coast to coast Canadian tours and support slots for acts including USS, I Mother Earth, and Finger Eleven.
“...[Nathan]’s gone from a firecracker to a total showstopper.” Lithium Magazine
Late in 2016 the band approached producer Gavin Brown (The Tragically Hip, Three Days Grace, Billy Talent) to collaborate on their latest single "HIGH", which peaked at 37 on Canadian Active Rock charts in Spring 2017. Previous single “LAND” also saw radio play in southwestern Ontario markets (CJAM, CBC Radio 1, 96.7 MIX FM and 89X in Windsor/Detroit and 97.7 HTZ FM in Niagara).
With professional management and publishing team secured for this young band, 2017 marks a huge year for The Silence Factory as they prepare to support legacy acts like Big Wreck, Our Lady Peace, and The Trews this summer among many more.
